We decided that our kids needed some room to roam! We started driving all over Tennessee, trying to find the perfect place. Then one day it struck us, why not Cagle Mountain? This was the place that Anthony's mother Ella Dill Grimes grew-up. We used to take Granny Grimes to the mountain on weekends to help out with her brother Elmer Dill. Elmer lived in the store front across the street from the Dill Elementary School. We would drop her off and then we would take off for the day to Fall Creek Falls. We actually took a short cut, the C C Road. This is the same road Anthony's Uncle Jigger worked on when he was in the Conservation Corp in the 1930's.
Ironically, this is the road that our farm house is now built on, only 1 mile away from the Dill school. So as you can see, there's a lot of history on this mountain. We have absolutely fallen in love with the slower life on weekends. It's great to load up the car on Friday evening and take off to a different world.
This farm is a place where our family and friends can go and have fun fishing, four-wheeling and target practicing. When we first bought the land it was just pasture and a pond. We then built a barn, a pavilion and then a house. Randall Morris (a local builder) built all of the structures on our farm. The CC Road is an old Conservation Corp road built in the 1930's. We now take rides down this road with our four-wheelers. The locals also use jeeps and horse drawn wagons. Take a look at our pictures to see our family and friends having fun.

WELL IT'S SUMMER AGAIN AND YOU KNOW WHAT THAT MEANS? MUD, BUGS AND FUN! WE'VE HAD SOME EXCITING DAYS AT THE FARM LATELY. LAST WEEKEND LIFEFORCE CIRCLED THE FARM ON SATURDAY NIGHT AROUND 10:00 P.M. . THEY WERE LOOKING FOR SOMEONE BUT KEPT GOING. A FEW MIN. LATER , 4 FOURWHEELERS CAME DOWN THE CC ROAD IN THE DIRECTION OF THE MAIN ROAD. THEN, THEY CAME BACK AND FOLLOWING THEM WERE THE POLICE. THEN AMBULANCES, RESCUE SQUADS AND LOTS OF OTHER CARS. EVERYONE WHO HAS BEEN TO THE FARM KNOWS HOW UNUSUAL IT IS TO EVEN HEAR A CAR AT THAT TIME OF NIGHT. SO, ANTHONY TAKES OFF TO ROGERS HOUSE TO FIND OUT THE SCOOP. TURNS OUT, A GIRL HAD A SEIZIOUR WHILE RIDING ON HER 4 WHEELER. SO, THE GUYS THAT WERE WITH HER DECIDED TO PUT HER ON THE FRONT OF THE 4 WHEELER AND CARRY HER OUT OF THE WOODS. (KIND OF LIKE YOU WOULD DO IF YOU HAD KILLED A DEER) SO, WHILE THEY WERE BRINGING HER OUT, SHE FELL OFF AND THEY RAN OVER HER. NEEDLESS TO SAY, LIFEFORCE DID COME BACK TO GET HER. LAST WORD WAS THAT SHE WAS OK AND WAS RELEASED A FEW DAYS LATER FROM THE HOSPITAL.
WE ARE PLANNING THE SECOND ANNUAL BARBEQUE FOR LABOR DAY, WE WILL KEEP YOU ALL UPDATED!
